Rough Trochoidal Milling
Trochoidal milling is a method with programmed circular tool path movements, characterized by milling a relatively small width of cut and short contact time between the cutting edge and the workpiece material. This method contributes to reducing the generated heat developed during cutting very tough and hard materials such as high temperature alloys and titanium; in the aerospace industry and as well for milling very hard alloy steels. An additional advantage achieved by the trochoidal milling method is that the reduction in generated heat allows for increased cutting speeds for milling high temperature alloys and very hard alloy steels. ISCAR’s solid carbide and MULTI-MASTER product line is equipped with suitable tools, as well as multi-flute tools for faster feeds and greater productivity.
Recommended grade IC900
